[Open Position] Project Saathi - Software Engineer - Frontend
Impacters is growing and we are putting together a team of strong, enthusiastic engineers and scientists!
Impacters (formerly Coder Girls Initiative) aims to start a movement that encourages youths, especially girls to innovate in the field of STEM by giving them the tools to get started and aspiring them to continue exploring. It also aspires to create an inviting place for future female tech leaders by giving them the tools and support to invent and innovate in an unrestricted environment. After organizing numerous workshops and internship sessions, Impacters is now working on a 10-month project that will simplify agriculture through scientific methods and we are looking for engineers to support us in the further development of our solutions.
About the project
In this exciting position, you will work on diverse issues related to the topic of data-driven farming. The goal: scientific assessment of agricultural methods and to make smart farming more accessible to the smallholder farmers.
You will be responsible for interpreting the product requirements and building software modules for interactive application targeted to smallholder farmers.
In addition, you will build modular and reusable components and libraries.
You will also advise our team of young interns on the further development and sustainable implementation of their ideas.
Last but not the least, you will try out new approaches in optimizing applications for scalability and performance and check their potential with regards to possible applications at Impacters.
Working hours: Sun.-Fri. (10am - 5pm)
Limited contract of 5 months with a possibility to extend based on the team’s performance
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills
Experience in web application development using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Vue.js, Angular, React)
Experience with HTML5, CSS3
Experience with docker
Good knowledge of MySQL / SQL Server
Good knowledge of Python or Node.js
Ability to carry out research independently
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with hardware modules (e.g. microcontrollers, sensors, raspberry pi)
Experience with mobile application development (flutter)
Experience with Machine Learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow, spaCy, scikit-learn)
Previous experience with mentoring
Previous experience with agricultural projects
